First Ag’s flexible loan facility product is a type of loan that allows our customers to borrow against the value of their inventory at any given time. The amount of the loan is directly linked to the assessed valuation of the inventory, known as the “Borrowing Base” and the available loan grows and falls as that inventory value changes. It’s ideal for assets like cattle whose value grows over time and is realised on an ongoing basis over a cycle. Our customers can typically have between $20m and $60m tied up in the value of cattle that are backgrounding, in feedlot and with the processor. Read about our recent deals here.
Repo facilities are ideal to release working capital for customers who trade in commodity goods, with a publicly traded market price (e.g. wheat and barley). In a repo facility, First Ag will purchase physical commodity from the customer or a supplier and the customer then agrees to purchase that commodity at a later time from First Ag at a pre-agreed price. Repo facilities can be very flexible, allowing for a range of terms, trade flows, and pricing scenarios that best suit the customer and the market they operate in. Read about our recent deals here.
These facilities allow our customers to obtain early funds against issued invoices. First Ag will purchase or fund against underlying invoices issued to buyers or, in the case of supplier facing payables solutions First Ag can in some cases provide a funding line to assist with cash management, pricing and supply chain relationships.
